Six curved steel plant supports in one bundle: two each at 400mm, 600mm and 800mm tall, all 400mm wide. Each one is a half-hoop of 6mm steel bar on two legs, handmade in Norfolk by LV Bespoke, and the mix of heights lets you hold up a whole group of plants in one go.
The 400mm width is the middle size, right for most hardy geraniums, phlox, asters and a young peony. Use the short ones at the front of a group and the taller ones behind, overlapping the curves where a clump is wider than one hoop.
Put them in early, while the shoots are still low, and the plants grow up through them and hide the steel by midsummer. They're supplied raw, so they turn from grey to a warm rust brown within weeks and blend into the border. 6mm bar is thick enough to keep its shape under a wet, heavy plant, and they push in by hand with no tools. While they weather in they can leave rust marks on pale paving.
