Dried Craspedia Stems (Billy Buttons)
If you want to add a splash of sunshine and a touch of modern art to your home, Craspedia (affectionately known as Billy Buttons) is the answer. Each stem is poker-straight and topped with a perfectly spherical, mustard-yellow flower head that looks like a little sun.
These are the ultimate architectural stem. They dry rock-hard, meaning they never droop, shed, or lose their perfect shape. Whether you place a few stems in a bud vase for a minimalist look, or use them to add a geometric "pop" to a mixed bouquet, they bring a sense of fun and style to any room.

🌿 What are Billy Buttons?
These are the flowers of Pycnosorus globosus (formerly Craspedia). They are native to Australia/New Zealand but grown here in the UK.
The Texture: The yellow spheres are made up of hundreds of tiny florets packed tight. Once dried, they feel firm and woody, making them one of the most durable dried flowers available.
🎨 Styling Ideas
Craspedia works best when used to create contrast:
- The Minimalist: Place 3, 5, or 7 stems in a clear glass bottle or grey concrete vase. The clean lines are perfect for modern shelves.
- Buttonholes: The robust heads and thin stems make them the #1 choice for Grooms' buttonholes at rustic weddings.
- Height Adjuster: Because the heads are small, they fit easily into mixed bouquets without overcrowding them, adding height and splashes of yellow "confetti."

Perfect Dried Companions
Make the yellow pop by pairing it with cool tones or soft textures:
- 🌿 Dried Eucalyptus: Fresh & Modern. The cool, silvery-green leaves of Eucalyptus provide the perfect backdrop for the warm yellow of the Craspedia. It's a very fresh, contemporary look.
- 💜 Dried Statice (Sea Lavender): Purple & Yellow. These are complementary colours. Mixing the architectural yellow balls with the frothy purple sprays of Statice creates a vibrant, joyful display.
⚠️ Colour Note
Dried Craspedia naturally fades slightly from bright lemon to a warmer mustard-yellow over time. This is normal and adds to their rustic charm.
