While most dried stems shoot straight up, Achillea spreads out. These stunning bunches feature large, flat-topped flower heads (umbels) in a rich, warming shade of mustard-gold.

This horizontal shape is a florist's secret weapon. It acts as a "shelf" or a "bridge" in a bouquet, connecting vertical spikes with soft grasses. The colour is incredibly stable, holding that "Golden Hour" glow for years, making it the perfect addition to harvest wreaths, autumn displays, or simply brightening up a dark corner in winter.

๐ŸŒฟ About these Stems

These are the air-dried stems of Achillea filipendulina (often 'Cloth of Gold' or 'Parker's Variety').

The Texture: The tiny individual flowers are tightly packed into dense, flat heads that feel dry and firm to the touch. They are much sturdier than delicate flowers like daisies.

๐ŸŽจ Styling Ideas

The flat shape of Yarrow offers unique styling opportunities:

  • The "Shelf" Effect: In a mixed bouquet, position the Yarrow slightly lower than your tall grasses. It creates a visual "step" that leads the eye into the arrangement.
  • Autumn Wreaths: The intense golden colour is the essence of autumn. Group 3 stems together for a bold focal point on a twig or moss wreath.
  • Table Settings: The stems can be cut short and placed in bud vases, or the heads can be snipped off completely and used for flat-lay photography or potpourri.

Perfect Dried Companions

Balance the flat, heavy heads of Yarrow with lighter, vertical textures:

  • ๐Ÿ’œ Dried Lavender: The Complementary Contrast. Purple and Yellow are opposites on the colour wheel, making them the most vibrant pairing possible. The thin spikes of lavender slice through the flat yellow plates beautifully.
  • ๐ŸŒพ Dried Wheat (Triticum): The Harvest Look. Combining Golden Yarrow with Natural Wheat creates the ultimate traditional English Harvest Festival aesthetic.

โš ๏ธ Stem Fragility
While the flower heads are tough, the stems of dried Yarrow can be brittle and snap if bent. We recommend handling them by the base of the bunch and avoiding squeezing the stems too tightly.

๐ŸŒฟ Care & display tips
Keep your dried flowers out of direct sunlight and away from damp — both will fade and soften the stems over time. No water needed. Arrange loosely in a vase or tie with twine for a hanging display. Handle gently as dried stems can be brittle.
๐Ÿ’ Using in arrangements
Dried flowers work beautifully with other dried stems, pampas grass, and seed heads. If using in a wreath or floral foam, wire the stems first for extra security. For wedding work, we recommend ordering a little extra to allow for any breakage during handling.
๐Ÿ“ฌ Delivery & packaging
Dried flowers are packed carefully in a rigid box to protect the stems in transit. Dispatched within 2–3 working days. All packaging is compostable or recyclable. Free delivery on orders over £30.
