How to Use

1. Fill with peat-free compost — a good-quality multi-purpose or specific compost suited to your plant. The coir pot works with any standard growing medium
2. Plant your seedling or young plant — either directly from a smaller starter pot (like a 10cm coir pot for consistency) or from a plug/module
3. Water thoroughly — the coir will absorb some initial moisture and darken in colour. This is normal
4. Position in bright light — on a windowsill, in a greenhouse, or outdoors depending on the plant and season
5. Water as needed — the coir wall allows evaporation, so container plants may need slightly more frequent watering than plastic pots (this varies by conditions)
6. Transplant with the pot intact — when the plant is ready for its final position, dig a hole and plant the entire pot into the ground or larger container. Roots continue growing straight through the pot wall while the coir gradually breaks down over 6-12 months

Care and Longevity

• Storage: Keep unused pots in a dry place away from moisture — damp storage can start the biodegradation process prematurely
• In use: Expect a single growing season of use before the pot begins to soften. This is the intended lifespan
• Discoloration: Coir may darken with watering — this is normal and doesn't affect performance
• After planting out: The buried coir pot fully breaks down over 6-12 months, adding organic matter to your soil
