About this variety

Black-eyed Susan vine is usually sold in that hard orange with a black centre. 'Amber Eyes' is the softer version, in warm amber and apricot shading paler towards the throat, with the same dark chocolate eye.

It twines rather than clings, so it needs something to wind around: canes, wire, an obelisk, or the stems of a shrub it can climb through. In a large pot with a wigwam it will fill the whole thing by August.

Tender, and it will sulk if put out too early into cold ground. Wait until nights are reliably mild. After that it flowers steadily until the first frost, and picking off the faded blooms keeps it going longer.
