About this variety

Dusty, faded, slightly melancholy colouring — rose, caramel, bronze and terracotta, with many flowers carrying two or three of those shades at once. 'Sahara' looks less like a rudbeckia than almost anything else in the genus.

Semi-double and double blooms on strong stems, flowering from July until the first hard frost. It has become a favourite for autumn wedding work, where the muted tones do something the usual golds cannot.

Sow early under cover for flowers the same season. It will often overwinter and return for a second year, though the first is usually the better one.
