Gaillardia is amazing and I particularly like this Aristata Bicolour Goblin
With hot red, flame-coloured petals etched with yellow this is a fabulously cheerful flower to grow.
You can sow Gaillardia from February through to the autumn but if you want flowers this year then you need to start early enough. If you are sowing Feb-April then sow undercover and keep warm as they germinate and plant out when all risk of frost has passed. Or sow directly into the ground from May.
