The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T has previously been acknowledged as the world's hottest pepper from March 3, 2011, to August 7, 2013, when the Carolina Reaper supplanted it. It continues to be renowned for its intense heat, delivering over a million Scoville heat units in each pepper.
Butch Taylor discovered the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Chilli in his local chilli patch, immediately recognising its unique shape and pointy tail. After generations of isolated cultivation, he submitted it to the Guinness World Records and its heat smashed the previous record.
The heat of the Butch T variety is intense and relentless, often likened to swallowing a lump of searing coal. This pepper exudes a strong spiciness and yields generous harvests reaching a height exceeding 90cm.

Pod Description
The pods of Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Chilli may range from 4-8cm in length, including their pointed tail, progressing from green to orange and finally red as they mature; however, this process may take some time in areas of moderate temperatures. This chilli is known for its intense heat level, which can range from 400,000 up to 2,000,000 Scoville heat units, making it one of the hottest peppers in the world.

Growing Info
This variety is more suited to experienced growers, as germination can be difficult; warm temperatures of 25-30℃ must be maintained for the seeds to sprout in cool temperate climates, and a greenhouse or polytunnel is recommended to ensure successful growth.
