Dried Candytuft Bunch (Iberis)

If your dried arrangement feels a bit "stiff" or "spiky," Candytuft is the solution. It produces branching stems topped with clusters of tiny, intricate flowers that create a soft, frothy effect, similar to a mini Gypsophila but with a more rustic, wildflower charm.

Dried to a natural shade of creamy-white (sometimes with the faintest blush of pink), this is an essential "blender" flower. It knits other stems together, fills gaps, and adds a lightness to wreaths and bouquets. Because of its small scale, it is also the secret weapon for creating intricate wedding buttonholes and hair combs.

🌿 About these Stems

These are the air-dried stems of Iberis. They are harvested when the flower clusters (umbels) are fully open to ensure they keep their shape.

The Texture: The stems are woody and branching, while the flower heads feel dry and papery. They add a "pointillist" texture to arrangements, breaking up solid blocks of colour.

🎨 Styling Ideas

Candytuft is versatile and works best as a supporting act:

  • The Buttonhole: Its small, flat head lies perfectly against a lapel. Pair a single sprig of Candytuft with a dried wheat stalk for a classic rustic wedding look.
  • Wreath Making: The branching nature of the stems makes them great for filling out the base of a wreath, hiding the wire or moss.
  • The Softener: Add a few stems to a bunch of spiky Lavender or Wheat to soften the silhouette and add a "meadow" feel.

Perfect Dried Companions

Create a balanced arrangement by pairing Candytuft with these textures:

  • 🐇 Dried Bunny Tails (Lagurus): The Soft Texture. The fluffy heads of Bunny Tails match the softness of Candytuft perfectly. Together they create a very tactile, gentle arrangement.
  • 🌹 Dried Rose Buds: The Romantic Contrast. The small, detailed flowers of Candytuft frame the larger, bolder shape of a dried rose beautifully. It acts like the "foliage" to the rose's "flower."

⚠️ Handle with Care
Candytuft is one of the more delicate dried flowers. The tiny blooms can shed if handled roughly. We recommend placing them in a vase and leaving them undisturbed to keep them looking their best.

🌿 Care & display tips
Keep your dried flowers out of direct sunlight and away from damp — both will fade and soften the stems over time. No water needed. Arrange loosely in a vase or tie with twine for a hanging display. Handle gently as dried stems can be brittle.
💐 Using in arrangements
Dried flowers work beautifully with other dried stems, pampas grass, and seed heads. If using in a wreath or floral foam, wire the stems first for extra security. For wedding work, we recommend ordering a little extra to allow for any breakage during handling.
📬 Delivery & packaging
Dried flowers are packed carefully in a rigid box to protect the stems in transit. Dispatched within 2–3 working days. All packaging is compostable or recyclable. Free delivery on orders over £30.
