Bunny Tails Seeds (Lagurus ovatus)

How to Sow:
For earliest results, sow indoors in modules from February to April. Alternatively, direct sow outdoors from March to May, or in September for significantly stronger plants the following year. Scatter seeds onto the surface of the soil and cover with a very thin layer (2-3mm) of fine compost or vermiculite. Germination typically occurs within 14-21 days.

Where to Plant:
They demand full sun and thrive in light, well-drained soil. They are specialists of sandy, gravelly, or "poor" soils; in overly rich or heavily manured ground, the plant will produce excessive green leaf growth at the expense of the fluffy flower heads. Space plants 20cm apart in generous drifts for the best visual impact.

The Drying Secret:
To preserve Bunny Tails for winter arrangements, harvest the stems on a dry day once the heads are fully formed but still possess their pale green-white hue. Strip off the leaves and hang the stems upside down in small bunches in a dark, well-ventilated location. They will fully dry within 2-3 weeks and last for years without shedding.
