Wooden Flower Press (Standard)

Flower pressing is the simple process of removing moisture from a plant while holding it perfectly flat.

The Sandwich Method: This press comes with layers of cardboard and blotting paper. You simply place your flower between two sheets of paper, sandwich that between cardboard, and tighten the nuts.

Top Tip: Moisture is the enemy! Always pick your flowers on a dry day, after the morning dew has evaporated. If the flower is wet when you press it, it may go mouldy instead of drying crisp.

Not all flowers press well. Juicy, thick flowers (like Tulips) can be difficult. For the best results, choose flowers with single layers of petals or flat faces:

• ✨ Cosmos: Their paper-thin petals dry exceptionally fast and keep their colour.
• ✨ Ferns & Leaves: Essential for adding greenery to your pressed flower art frames.

• ☁️ Cosmos 'Purity': The perfect subject. The large, flat white petals contain very little moisture, meaning they dry quickly and retain a pristine, papery white finish that looks elegant on dark card.
• ❄️ Ammi Majus (Queen Anne's Lace): The skeleton leaf look. When pressed, the tiny white florets create a delicate, snowflake-like pattern. It is the essential "filler" foliage for pressed flower art.
• 💜 Viola 'Sorbet Morpho': The classic face. Violas are the number one flower for pressing because they lie naturally flat. The yellow and purple 'faces' retain their colour beautifully for years.
