While specific detailed historical records for "WISR Yellow" might be limited due to the dynamic nature of chilli breeding, this variety is firmly classified under the Capsicum chinense genus. This lineage immediately places it among the world's hottest peppers, including the Habanero and Scotch Bonnet, from which it likely inherits its formidable heat and distinct fruity aroma. The term "WISR" often indicates a specific breeder or a selected stable line, refining characteristics like the intense heat and vibrant yellow colour, building upon a rich heritage of Capsicum chinense varieties from regions like Central and South America.

The WISR Yellow Chilli is not for the faint of heart. It boasts an astonishing Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating that can reach up to 1,000,000 SHU (1 Million SHU). This puts it squarely in the realm of some of the world's hottest chillies, comparable to the Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper). Expect an immediate, searing heat that intensifies rapidly and lingers for an extended period, delivering a truly unforgettable spicy experience. Due to its extreme heat, always handle these chillies with care, ideally wearing gloves, and avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas.

Plant Size The WISR Yellow Chilli plant is a robust and productive grower, typically reaching a height of 60-90 cm (24-36 inches). It develops a strong, bushy framework capable of supporting a significant yield of its fiery fruit.
Pod Size The pods are visually striking, ripening from a light green to a brilliant, almost neon yellow. They are generally 5-7 cm (2-3 inches) in length and 2-3 cm (0.8-1.2 inches) in diameter, often exhibiting the classic Capsicum chinense wrinkled or slightly irregular shape, sometimes with a pointed tip. Their bright colour makes them stand out against the plant's dark green foliage.
Flavour Despite its extreme heat, the WISR Yellow Chilli is prized for its complex and aromatic flavour. It carries a distinctive fruity sweetness with pronounced citrus notes, often reminiscent of tropical fruits like pineapple or passionfruit, which provides a fascinating counterpoint to its intense fire. This unique combination makes it a superb ingredient for crafting exceptionally potent and flavourful hot sauces, salsas, marinades, or for use sparingly in dishes where a powerful kick and a vibrant, fresh aroma are desired
