The Sugar Rush Stripey chilli is a Sugar Rush Peach with stripes. In 2010-2011, chilli grower Jukka of Finland initially observed the striped variation in his experimental greenhouse. He later provided seed stock to Chris Fowler in Wales, who cultivated the variant for several years to stabilise it before returning the seeds to Jukka. Jukka subsequently honed the strain via selection. We obtained our seed stock from Jukka in 2020, with our 2021 growth yielding a mean of striped chillies, with the occasional solid red pepper occurring.

Pod Description
They will start with a very pale yellow or green pod this will eventually mature into a beautiful orange or peach pod with red stripes. We have found that these chillies do take quite a while to fully mature, so be patient. The flavour of Sugar Rush Stripey Chilli is comparable to the original Sugar Rush Peach, exhibiting a unique and fruity characteristic. With a heat level slightly higher than the common Jalapeno pepper, this variety of chilli measures roughly 10cm in length and 25cm in width.

The plant can reach heights of 1m and above and yields an abundant amount of pods boasting a distinctive form featuring curls, twirls and tapers. Sugar Rush Stripey Chilli is an eye-catching variety of chile pepper that adds a kick of sweet heat to meals with its distinctively curled, tapered shape, and surprisingly mild flavour.
