Stunning, large ruffled flowers in a deep, rich burgundy (almost black) with silvery foliage.  And then after the flowers comes the large, fat seed heads....perfect for drying and using as decorations.  Lovely planted in drifts

Sow Seeds

Best sown directly in autumn (Sept) or spring (March-May).  Prepare soil by digging over and raking to a fine tilth, removing any large stones etc.  Scatter seeds thinly into moist soil.  Always water with a rose to stop flushing seeds away
Plant Out Direct sow as dislikes root disturbance, likes well drained soil and full sun.  Pick or deadhead to encourage more growth
