📦 What's in the Box? (10 Packets)
You will receive 10 full-sized packets of the best varieties for drying:
- 🔵 Echinops 'Metallic Blue': Architectural, spiky blue spheres on silver stems that hold their colour perfectly when dried.
- 🌙 Honesty 'Mixed' (Lunaria): Famous for its flat, translucent, silver-dollar seed pods that shimmer in the light.
- ⭐ Scabiosa Stellata (Paper Moon): Incredible geometric, spherical seed heads that look like papery globes. A florist favourite.
- 🔥 Strawflower (Helichrysum): The king of dried flowers. Large, double, papery blooms in sunset shades of red, orange, yellow, and white.
- 🌾 Briza Maxima (Quaking Grass): Elegant grasses with heart-shaped "locket" seed heads that tremble and rattle.
- 🎭 Nigella Hispanica: The "Spanish Love-in-a-Mist." Produces larger, architectural seed pods with a distinctive "jester hat" shape.
- 🧱 Achillea 'Rubra' (Red Yarrow): Flat-topped plates of tiny flowers that fade from vibrant red to a beautiful vintage terracotta.
- 🔴 Gomphrena (Globe Amaranth): Clover-like flowers in intense strawberry red or purple that retain their colour perfectly.
- 🌕 Craspedia (Billy Buttons): Fun, modern, bright yellow spheres on tall, wiry stems that dry hard as rock.
- 🌈 Statice 'Mixed' (Limonium): The essential filler. Sturdy stems topped with flat sprays of papery flowers in purple, blue, rose, and yellow.
✂️ Guide: How to Dry Your Flowers
Drying is easy if you follow the golden rules:
1. Pick at the Right Time:
For Strawflowers and Statice, pick when the buds are half-open. They continue to open as they dry. If you pick them fully open, they may turn inside out or brown.
2. Strip the Leaves:
Remove all foliage from the stems (leaves don't dry well and can go mouldy). This leaves you with clean, professional stems.
3. Hang Upside Down:
Tie small bunches with an elastic band (stems shrink as they dry!) and hang them upside down in a warm, dark, dry place (like an airing cupboard or shed). Darkness is key to keeping the colours bright!
