The Cyklon chilli pepper is a classic Polish variety of Capsicum annuum, highly prized for its productivity, adaptability, and mild to medium heat. Originally bred for commercial drying and spice production, Cyklon has become popular among home growers for its abundant yields and flavourful pods that are excellent for drying, powdering, pickling, and cooking. The heat level is typically around 5,000–10,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), making it milder than cayenne but still pleasantly spicy.

The Cyklon chilli pepper is a dependable, early-maturing variety that delivers abundant, mildly spicy red chillies ideal for drying and culinary use. Its adaptability, compact size, and high yields make it a favourite Whether in the garden or in containers, Cyklon brings reliable performance and versatile heat to the kitchen.

Growing Conditions

Sow seeds ¼ inch (0.6 cm) deep in a light, well-draining seed-starting mix. Start indoors 6–8 weeks before the last expected frost.  Soil temperature: 22–28°C (72–82°F); using a heat mat improves success. Keep trays covered with a plastic dome or plastic wrap to maintain humidity; open daily for air exchange.  Transplant outdoors when seedlings have 4–6 true leaves and night temperatures consistently stay above 12–15°C (54–59°F). Harden off plants for 7–10 days prior.  Space plants 45–60 cm (18–24 inches) apart in rows 60–75 cm (24–30 inches) apart.  Use a balanced fertilizer (such as 10-10-10) every 3–4 weeks, or a high-potassium fertilizer when flowering and fruiting.

All plants are grown on our farm in Norfolk, UK and are grown in an open pollinated area.
