Growing Conditions |
Sow seeds about 0.5 cm (¼ inch) deep in a fine, well-draining seed-starting mix, starting indoors 8–10 weeks before the last expected frost date. Ideal soil temperature: 24–30°C (75–86°F); use a heat mat for best results. Maintain high humidity with a humidity dome or plastic wrap until seedlings emerge. Transplant seedlings to larger pots when they have 2–4 true leaves. Harden off outdoors over 7–10 days before final planting. Keep soil consistently moist, but not soggy; water deeply and less frequently to promote deep roots. Use a balanced fertiliser during the vegetative stage; switch to a bloom/fruit fertiliser with higher potassium once flowering starts |
All plants are grown on our farm in Norfolk, UK and are grown in an open pollinated area.
