    Description

    Very attractive and interesting plant to grow. Large purple berries enclosed within the thin husk of its calyx make this visually very pleasing.

    The plant will grow to around 1m tall and 1m wide and will require support.

    Gorgeous zesty flavour, delicious and fairly tart when eaten raw and more lemony once it is cooked. Wonderful in salads and salsas, roasted up with other vegetables and in many Mexican dishes.

    Plant Care Tips

    Sow in spring  undercover and keep warm (18-23 degrees)
    Transplant when large enough to handle into 8cm pots
    Grow on in cooler conditions
    When around 20cm tall plant into a growing position in the greenhouse or gradually acclimatise before planting outdoors in a sunny, sheltered spot
    Likes moist, fertile and well-drained soil
    Keep well watered and support will be required
