The Kashmiri Mirch chilli is a moderate Indian species that is well-known for its very dark red colour. You may find it in dishes like Rogan Josh, which is comparable to the use of Paprika in Hungarian cooking. In particular, it is one of the chillies that is used to build the popular spice blend known as Deggi Mirch in order to achieve a natural colour that is consistent.

The plant originates in the north-eastern part of India and bears bright red pods that are utilised in virtually all types of Indian cuisine. These pods are frequently dried, ground, and transformed into the well-known Kashmiri chilli powder, which is the primary component of tandoor recipes and is responsible for the production of the bright red food colour. The chiles don't have much of a bite to them.
