Kashmiri Mirch chilli is a mild Indian variety renowned for its signature deep red hue, which can be found in dishes such as Rogan Josh, equivalent to Hungarian Paprika. Specifically, it is one of the chillies used to craft the sought-after spice blend Deggi Mirch for consistent natural colouring.

The plant is native to northeast India and produces bright red pods that are used in almost all Indian cuisine and are often dried, ground and made into the famous Kashmiri chilli powder which is the main ingredient in tandoor recipes and produces the bright red food colour.  The chillies carry very little heat.
