Because of its attractive appearance, delicious taste, high yield, and adaptability, the Chinese Five Colour pepper is one of the most popular varieties to grow. The Chinese Five Colour chilli plant produces pods that are a rainbow of colours, similar to the Bolivian Rainbow pepper plant. These colours include cream, purple, yellow, orange, and red. In addition to the more common yellows, oranges, and reds, there are also layers of purple and cream to be found in this composition. The Chinese Five Colour chilli pepper, in contrast to the majority of ornamental peppers, actually has a flavour that people enjoy, making it an excellent choice for edible landscaping projects.
The plants, true to their namesake, produce pods in a rainbow of hues at the same time, which gives them their distinctive appearance. The conical peppers begin their development with various hues of purple, mature into a lovely cream colour, and then progress through various shades of yellow, orange, and red. The pods develop a spicier and more flavorful profile as they mature. The Chinese Five Colour has a heat level that is similar to that of the Cayenne pepper, with an average of roughly 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville Heat Units. This range of heat is considered to be medium.

I already have baby craspedia seedlings and can't wait to see them grow. I bought a couple of craspedia plants last year and they produce the most lovely yellow pom poms. They look great dotted in three's around the house and I also use them when I make dried wreaths.
